BOOTLEG RASCAL RELEASES MUSIC VIDEO FOR ‘WITH YOU’ AND ANNOUNCES NORTH AMERICAN TOUR

Australian band Bootleg Rascal have released a music video to accompany their single, ‘With You’. The trio dropped the track nationally last month and have since announced a tour of the US.

The video strays from presenting one uniform narrative. Instead, it’s a collection of short scenes constantly changing, drawing inspiration from 2010’s ‘Inception’. Guitarist Jimmy Young explained that it was intended to create the feeling of lucid dreaming, “…we wanted the clip to be completely incongruous; jumping from scene-to-scene erratically to accentuate the dream-like experience for viewers.” It’s safe to say, the visuals are as funky as the sound that accompanies them.

The Sydney indie-dub band are currently working on their second album with longtime collaborator, Ian Pritchett. The upcoming record is said to be reminiscent of 80’s pop as a result of the band’s recent obsession with old school synth-sounds and drum machines. It’ll be an expansion of the band’s sound, that’s for sure. The album is anticipated for release in October this year.

Along with all of this, the band announced their return to North America. Five shows are planned so far for June of this year. Bootleg Rascal is also making a trip further north to Canada for two shows.
